Living Last Supper
Twelve men at a table in fellowship with our Lord, in what,
unbeknownst to most of them, will be the
last time together. This
poignant event in Scripture is brought to life before our very eyes
through the
talents of men of St. Peter’s and surrounding Parishes.
Taking place, usually, the two weeks before Easter at
St. Peter’s and St.
James in Mason, these moving performances are a highlight of the Lenten
season. A free will
offering is taken and given to the Youth Group
for their retreat at the Franciscan University.
Giving Tree
Fulfilling the needs of struggling families in the Parish and
local community in the spirit of Christmas,
St. Peter’s parishioners
donate items requested by families we ‘adopt’. God’s love and charity
in
action is shown through the generous giving of our parishioners.
Auction
Each year on the third Sunday of November, this fun Auction
event takes place in Fr. Ben Fellowship
Hall. As a dedicated
fundraiser for St. Peter Parish, all proceeds from both the live and
silent auctions
go to benefit building upkeep and maintenance.
Spring Ox Roast and Festival
The Annual Church Festival & Carnival is celebrated every
spring. Our amazing parishioners go above
and beyond in volunteer
efforts to make this four day event possible for the Parish and the
community. This is a great time of fellowship and family fun with live
bands every night, food, a beer
tent, carnival rides and tons of
free activities for all ages!
Community Thanksgiving Dinner
Nothing completes Thanksgiving like a home cooked turkey and
all the sides. Unfortunately, many in
our community are not able to
provide this for their families. For these and many others who have no
one to share Thanksgiving Day with, St. Peter’s provides a warm,
welcoming place and a delicious,
home cooked traditional meal. With
everything donated by Parishioners, we are able to keep this free
of
charge.
Volunteering
Special events require much work and effort. From the planning
stages through to the clean up,
bodies are essential for success.
Several times a year, parishioners are asked to donate of their
physical time and talents. Donations of materials and items for various
fundraisers and events are also
requested. Needs are published in
the bulletin and Gathering Space, as well as announced in Masses.
